Hiko Waldew

Pyrus Crabapple is one of the main protagonists of the creative universe Photosynthesis. They were created and designed by show creator and science educator, David Quang Pham. Pham based Pyrus on pear trees in his childhood backyard and the queer childhood friends who sent him on misadventures and got him into trouble. They are a childish, mischievous, and musically talented pear kid who lives in FigLeaf nightclub with their unty Malus and pet bee Shelby Bombus in Dirty City in the garden nation of Woodwork. They are best friends with their neighbor Parsley. They work as an intern at Salontro, a neighboring salon managed by Parsley's mom, Rau Ram. It is a job they often fail at, sending the business into chaos but adventures too. They and Parsley both tend to bother Rau, though they do it unknowingly and have fun intentions. They attend Sugar Hill Conservatory in Sugar Hill based in the Leaf Peninsula of Woodwork. As an art student, their sworn enemy is music teacher Rhubarb Avaz, who tries to get Pyrus to practice everyday. Pyrus is a singer and string musician in a band known as the Woodwinds. Pyrus is the child of Rustia and Pyper Crabapple who reside in Sugar Hill.
